A hard copy of this book was gifted to me by my brother Stanley and my sister-in-law Maggie to whom I am eternally grateful!

This is a close up of the front cover of the book 'The Savages of the Ards'
" FORTIS ATQUE FIDELIS" translates to "STRONG AND FAITHFUL"

NB Mr Andrew Savage, who was born on 3rd June 1710, on inheriting a portion of the fortune of his maternal grand-uncle, Govenor 'NUGENT' assumed the name of 'NUGENT' and claimed the Barony of Delvin in 1814. He died 1846.(The Savages of the Ards, GF Savage-Armstrong)
